Jamaica 1831 revolt also know as "Baptiste war" or "Christmas War" Good night my bloggy pies. Apologies for the late blogging. Today I would be discussing the Jamaica 1831 revolt in full details. In Jamaica white public opinion was opposed to amelioration towards slave. This was because amelioration were laws that went to the betterment of slaves, meaning that the plantocracy would have to spend more money on slaves but since they viewed their slaves as properties they refused. Before the revolt began a slave in montego bay named Samuel sharpe also known as "Sam Sharpe was a baptiste preacher who was literate. He was also nigerian who belonged to the igbo tribe and was a a slave on kensington estate in St. James.
